89. Denali NP - Teklanika Campground

We shortened our Teklanika reservation by 1 night because we were all sick and the weather wasn't good, but once we headed into the park, we got to see all the nice views again.

We ended up only spending a total of 3 of our 4 nights in the park since we vacated a day early due to low batteries with minimal solar charging due to weather. Our days there were fun though. The drive in was once again great. We stayed around mile 30 or so at Teklanika campground. We got to stop along the drive and take more photos. That part of the road has almost no traffic since it is only park buses and a few campers. The first full day, we took the shuttle bus to around mile 45 where the road is currently closed due to a landslide. We hopped out at the end and explored by the river. The tiny photographer grabbed a shot and did some modeling.

After that, we made our first real campfire of our RV life. Usually we didn't consider it since we were typically in bed pretty early. Here we made it during the middle of the day for fun, but then it started raining.

We hid inside for the rest of the day. Jordan discovered she didn't actually want to eat the lemon she thought she wanted.

The next day we walked along the road to explore a little. We got to see some nice mountains again.

Anjuli made another attempt to see the Northern lights again. This time a little more successful than the others, but still not the real thing. The colors here were not visible to the naked eye at all.

Since we left a day early due to low power which was partially caused by how cold it got, we happened to hit the first snow on the way out. This made the landscape even more beautiful and different than the way in. We got to see Denali yet again and the snow covered even the lower hill tops now. It was perfect timing for our drives in and out since we could hop out and take photos whenever we wanted, as opposed to riding the shuttles. We couldn't have timed that better. It makes it hard to figure out when to go back, because it will be hard to live up to this time.
