After Denali, we drove North to Fairbanks.
Even this part of the highway had nice views. Look at those yellows mixed with the evergreens! We stayed at the Fairbanks KOA. There were very few people there since it was the last few days of their season. They had nice areas to relax along the water. The sunrises and sunsets were great. The best part came after sunset though...
We finally saw the Northern lights for real! These were very obvious to the naked eye, though not as colorful as in the photos. Anjuli even got Bruce to come join her out in the cold to see them. They were surrounding us completely 360 degrees and above our heads, multiple colors, dancing, everything. It was perfect.
