74. The Alcan Highway - Part 1

After working for 5.5 weeks in the summer, we were off again!

We got to the airport nice and early for the first round of flights out and made it smoothly back to Calgary. Jordan and Anjuli hung out in one of the airport hotel restaurants while Bruce took an Uber to go get the truck to pick us up. Then we all went back to grab the RV and head out of town towards Dawson Creek.

We stopped at a Walmart along the way about an hour away from the RV storage place to stock up on food again. It was enough time to get the fridge cold enough. We made sure to have the best playground stops possible.

We made it to Dawson Creek to start the Alaska highway at the end of day 2. Jordan added her Tiny One Adventures sticker to the sticker forest next to the Alaska highway sign.

We stayed at several nice places along the early part of the Alcan highway. The first was near the famous Cinnamon bun place, Tetsa river campground. That was delicious. Make sure you don't arrive there on the day they take off each week. Next was Muncho lake where we got to stay right on the lake. That was amazing. There was a little smoke around, but not too bad. We drove over the part of the road that had washed out a few weeks before. We almost decided to abort the Alaska plan as the fires were spreading and the road washed out, but luckily we watched and waited and decided to go for it. It was truly epic!
