98. Stewart-Cassiar Highway, British Columbia

Since we took the Alcan on the way up, we took the Stewart-Cassiar highway on the way back.

We stopped at the Jade store and Jordan got a small bag of rocks which she loves playing with. This highway felt more remote than the Alcan. There were nice colors and lakes along the way.

We took the offshoot over to Stewart/Hyder to go see the glaciers. It's funny that Hyder, Alaska, is only accessible by going through Canada to get to the tiny town. We had great weather and views on the way in.

We tried going to see Salmon glacier, but it was mostly fogged out. We could see the closer parts of it. There were waterfalls everywhere we looked. Apparently, they were getting hit by an atmospheric river at that point, accounting for all the rain.

We headed out for a direct drive home from there. We found yet another great Canadian playground along the way.

Purden lake resort campground was a nice stop for the night. We had a great sunset over the water.

We had once last change to see the Northern lights. They weren't as spectacular in appearance as the other nights, but this time we had the Tiny Photographer out and that itself made it special. We also saw the Milky Way!
