Even though these trips have all been amazing, they've had their difficult times. We've been lucky with Jordan that she is a good sleeper, but there were still bad nights where she would wake up in the middle or early in the morning. Combining that with long travel days, adventuring, and constant monitoring of an active toddler can lead to mental exhaustion, what we call brain fog. We noticed that we could say things to each other and the other person will have no recollection of it later. Extra sleep didn't seem to help it. We could only assume it was due to lack of true down time for our brains to rest and reset. This probably isn't too much different than normal life with an infant or toddler, but just a little more extreme given the constantly changing setting and added logistics to consider.
