When we decided to do long RV trips with a toddler, we knew Jordan would need her own space. We didn't want her to be on a fold-out couch all the time if we could help it. The rear bunk models of both Grand Design and Brinkley were great for this. They both had full-size beds for both bunks. They enclosed the bed on more than 3 sides, which was great for an active sleeping toddler. The mattress was comfortable enough, but we add a thin foam pad on top to make it a little nicer. She gets to keep her books and stuffed animals all in there, as well as a bunch of pillows and blankets. Since she is too small to go up top by herself right now, we use the top for storage. Eventually, that can be another play area since all of that stuff can really go under our bed. She has plenty of room for all of her clothes and extra toys and stuff in the cabinet and drawers next to her bed.

We have kept her room temperature controlled by putting a digital wifi thermometer in her bed area and syncing it to a heater that we point at her room (on the floor in the picture above). It stops when her room is at temperature, regardless of what the rest of the RV is doing. This was perfect for the last trip where we were in borderline cool weather for most of it, especially up in Alaska. However, the company that made the heaters just issued a recall/destroy your heater warning because of fire hazard, so that is no longer an option. It was nice while it lasted. At least next year we will be in warmer climate for most of the year and won't need that. Plus, Jordan is older and can use a blanket more reliably.

Most of her toys, coloring books, crayons, etc, were stored in that coffee table. It has two pop-up tops to access everything. We also used that as our dinner table. She loved running around the island either being chased or chasing us. She did hundreds of laps over the course of the 2024 trip.

Toddler bath time was able to be preserved through the use of the blow-up tub. We hung it on the inside of the shower when not in use on a jumbo command hook. It allowed it to dry well and kept it out of the way. We removed it when we showered. The diaper pail was kind of annoying, but won't be present going forward. It was one of the things we always had to move when starting/ending a travel day.
Toddler adventuring/outdoor gear will be covered separately later in the trip.
