Port Angeles KOA was a good place for us to recover a bit and see a little bit of the park on that side. It rained for most of the days there, but we picked the clear times to adventure out.
We stopped down by the water for dinner at Downriggers.
We did the hike to Marymere Falls, which was very similar to Hoh Rainforest, so if you can only do one, I would suggest setting up at Port Angeles and doing this hike, and then you get to see the nearby mountains and water too.
Cuddle time with a munchkin. This was funny - she climbed into Bruce's spot in bed and then immediately pretended to be asleep. This was at a time where she never rested her head on pillows when sleeping because she would sleep across the pillows. So, seeing her act like a little adult and sleep in a normal position was entertaining.
Our last day, we drove up Hurricane ridge drive and did a short hike from the parking lot (high ridge trail). Again, we were happy we stored extra clothes in the car. Apparently we didn't learn that high elevation mountains were colder. That's why Jordan had random fleece jammie pants on, but she worked it. The Tiny Photographer was out in full force that day. She even brought a camera crew to set up for her.
We enjoyed doing part of the hike and didn't worry about not being able to finish it. Once it was clear that a storm was coming, we quickly retreated to the car as sleet started coming down. These sort of hikes are perfect with a toddler because there was no pressure to get all the way to the end. There were great views the whole time.

A rainbow started to come out when we were hiking, but we saw it even better on the drive down.
Mount Rainier was next up...
