We really had no idea what to expect at Lake Tahoe. We stayed at Fall Leaf Campground. Our arrival was more eventful than we planned. Their office/campground didn't have a sign so we kept driving until we saw one, except we never did. We kept driving further and further into the forest on a dirt road until it was clear we had passed it. We couldn't turn around with the RV and backing up would have been extremely difficult. We checked out google maps and saw that the road should technically connect back to a real neighborhood. So, after risking it and going further, we eventually made it out and circled back around. We found the office this time and they told us their sign had fallen down and hadn't been replaced. Grrr.
We found our campsite and noticed it was very narrow with trees on 3 sides. Bruce was able to back it in, but either the slides were too close or the stairs couldn't come down. So we decided to sacrifice the bathroom/bedroom slide because it wasn't necessary anyway. We walked to Fallen Leaf Lake right next to our campsite and watched the sunset. The Tiny Photographer was set up, but decided that wasn't her shot that night and aborted the photo shoot. She had a fun time playing with the sticks, rocks, and logs though.
The next day we explored the nearby Baldwin beach, which had nice sand. Jordan greeted the ducks.
We drove part way around the lake and had lunch Chambers Landing Bar & Grill, which was a nice treat with a great view and dock you can walk on.
We stopped at some view points around the lake.
In the late afternoon, we went out to Regan playground at the beach, which was a playground with quite the view. From there we decided we needed pizza.
We went a short drive over to Base Camp Pizza Co., which was the best... pizza... ever! Also, the best garlic cheesy bread. While we were waiting for our food, Anjuli set up Jordan with the straw wrapper to shoot at Bruce, as usual, and at the last moment she tipped it slightly up and shot it straight over Bruce's shoulder, over the countertop, and right into the kitchen. We try to cover our laughter, but it was hilarious. Nobody ever said anything. We were hoping they would think it appeared in there on someone's shoe or something, hoping that it was only on the ground. We still think about that pizza and want to go back. It has become one of those places we will always remember and build up in our minds over time, like the Mexican place in Kanab, UT, from our 2018 adventure.
