Pinnacles National Park was up next as we headed West out of Yosemite towards the coast.
This park might be best suited for kids who are a little older, but we made the best out of it and did the hike to Bear Gulch Reservoir via the Lower Cave. We did fine because we carried Jordan in the backpack, but the cave would have been a little sketchy if she were walking on her own with water and rocks and some drop offs. Next time when she is older, there is another hike up to the high peaks that is supposed to be really cool. We were going to send Bruce up there by himself, but after the last high hike he did alone with the snake incident, we decided not :P. Plus, they had closed the park road the second day so we couldn't go by road even if we had wanted.
So, we took another down day and hung out at the pool. There was a nice playground on the way in and out of the park area. It's nice when we backtrack sometimes because we already know how to approach the lunch break-playground situation.
As we hit the coast, we stopped at the farm of Anjuli's former colleague's parents in Watsonville. They gave us a nice tour around the farm and Jordan got to pick fresh strawberries and Avocados.
From there, we headed down the coast and stopped in a mall parking lot by the ocean. We got some food and biked down the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail to a HUGE playground in Monterey. That place was amazing. We had originally planned to bike further along the coast, but changed plans because of how awesome it was. After that, we just turned around and went back to the RV at the parking lot so we could drive down the coast to Big Sur.
