Our first stop of the trip greater than 1 night, Pigeon Forge by Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

We did the nice drive into the park and went to Clingmans dome hike. We loaded up that baby and walked to the top. We knew we had inappropriately dressed for the hike when we got there and there was snow everywhere. Luckily, we had some extra clothes/jackets in the truck (highly recommended). It was a short, steep hike with a circular tower at the top, and very nice views!
When we got back, we went to Bennett's BBQ Pit just up the road. It was very, very good. Jordan's eyes doubled in size when the food arrived.
There was a pool by the campground that we were able to use.
The next day, we hit the road again and headed to Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. The first picture here is Jennings Ferry Campground - very nice. The brown river there is the Mississippi. Right next to it, we found the sketchiest playground of the entire trip. It seemed to be blocked off from the road, but we walked over from a casino parking lot. It was overgrown in parts, so we had to keep Jordan to the clean parts. It seemed like it would have been super nice if they had maintained it.
We met up with Bruce's aunt and uncle as we passed through Texas and got some more BBQ, and some new stuffed friends for Jordan. We hit our first bit of traffic where we had to stop completely for about an hour unexpectedly, which extended a long day's drive. We also had a close call on the highway when someone tried to merge directly into us after they passed us, which didn't make any sense to us since they had clearly seen us while passing. We avoided any accident though, and continued on...
