The total eclipse passed over us in Vermont the day before we left on the big trip, which was partially how we decided when to leave in the first place. Couldn't miss that!
We were finishing packing up in the RV when our alarm went off. We grabbed our glasses and all of Jordan's babies and sat out in the driveway to watch. It felt pretty cool and strange at the same time.
The next morning, we grabbed our last few things from the night and hit the road full of excitement and a little nerves since we hadn't been able to test out the new RV yet.
We stopped at the first CAT scale on our route and it all checked out safely, so we got a Jordan thumbs up of approval.

We drove all the way to Hershey, PA, for the first night's stop. It was a pretty long first day, but good to get safely South since it was still early April. Jordan got to go to her first new playground of the trip. We worked out the beginning of the season jitters and got everything set up. We were relieved that everything was working well and our weight was good.
In the morning, we brought the whole RV and stopped by the Hershey factory for a quick tour and free sample chocolates on our way out of town. A solid start to the trip across the country.
