147. Redwoods - Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Fern Canyon

On the short drive to the next section of Redwoods, we found our old favorite pizza chain from Denver, MOD Pizza. So, we stopped and got some.

We were able to get a day-before permit for Fern Canyon so we got to hike it again. We got there early so there wouldn't be a million people and that looked like a good decision based on the number of people going in when we came out. Jordan didn't want to charge through the river this year since she didn't want to get wet. We were able to avoid it though. This year they had a bunch of foot bridges. Last year I think we were too early so they weren't out yet. Instead of completing the loop this year, we went out and back in the Ferny canyon part to experience it twice rather than going around through the forest.

After lunch, we headed back out to Stone Lagoon across the street with the inflatable kayak for its maiden voyage on an RV trip, second overall voyage. Jordan got to use her wetsuit again, though the water wasn't very cold. She got to enjoy one of her special M&M cookies in the kayak. She had fun splashing at the shoreline.
