The drive from Southern Utah to Great Basin in Eastern Nevada was remarkably unremarkable. It felt like the worst place to break down in the country with very few other vehicles around and nearly no gas stations or other stores. Luckily, it was uneventful for us. Pulling the RV up the park road to the park campgrounds was rough with a well groomed but washboard type road that jiggled us and the contents of the RV quite significantly. Nothing was harmed though. The Baker Creek Campground road was tight in a few spots with some overhanging trees, but no damage to the RV.

Our site is as unlevel front to back as the Bryce Canyon one, but in the opposite direction, which was much less frightening. The front of the RV sits with the jacks essentially nonextended and we put a few blocks under the tires to help support the relatively lifted back. Our site is perfect in location in the campground. It feels like we are sitting at the top of the hill looking out over the surrounding area. We went for an evening walk since it was cooler outside (no hookups so no A/C).

Sunset was pleasant. Anjuli took some photos from on top of the RV.

Bruce and Anjuli sneaked out after Jordan was asleep to look at the stars. The moon was almost full and was about to rise, so it wasn't the ideal night, but still cool.

Anjuli also went out for sunrise which sent out a nice glow across the sky.

In the more normal morningtime, we went to the top of the scenic drive, stopping at an overlook on the way for some photos.

We hiked to Theresa Lake. It was almost a mile there and Jordan did great hiking the whole way up. She loved the mini stream crossings and playing with stones, pinecones, and sticks at the lake. Next time we would continue on to see the Bristlecone pine grove, but didn't want to push it today.

Later in the afternoon, we went to the Lehman cave visitor center and Jordan spent a good hour playing in their mini cave. We couldn't do a cave tour since they sell out well in advance and we only decided to come here yesterday. It will be perfect when we next go to a cave though. The Mammoth Cave and Carlsbad Caverns cave tours were fun, but Jordan was too young to know what was going on.

Next, we continue West across Nevada to our next destination of Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California!
