Day 1: Aside from one fog light out as Bruce pulled out of the driveway, the launch of the Brinky went well.
Day 1 driving to Waterloo went smoothly with a routine lunch/diesel stop along the NY state thruway. We picked the Waterloo KOA since we are very familiar with it from our 2023 truck breakdown and wanted to make an easy first day since it was the first time Bruce would be towing a significant distance alone.
Meanwhile, back at home, Anjuli and Jordan had to scavenge for food finding leftovers in the fridge and patching together enough to survive (Bruce typically does the cooking). They found various ways to entertain themselves and eventually went to sleep.
Day 2: This was the longest drive day going all the way to Indiana to the Elkhart KOA. The midway stop was the Loves in Madison, OH, where we stayed the first night after leaving Waterloo in the afternoon on the other trip. Again, another familiar place to ease into things. With 8 google hours to drive, Bruce arrived much later this day.
Jordan played with bubbles and such things at the playground.
Day 3: A slightly shorter drive day to West Des Moines KOA in Iowa. Nothing too remarkable.
Jordan did a variety of activities and had to elevate her ankle using mommy's brace.
Day 4: Shorter drive day to Ogallala KOA in Nebraska. Standard Nebraska.
Jordan helped make dinner and made many toilet paper towers.
Day 5: Short drive day to Deckers, CO, at the Painted Rocks Campground to start Bruce's week of fishing. All fishing, all the time.
Jordan got to go to the farm with her preschool class. Only 3 days left of school for her!
