85. Homer, Alaska

Next, we headed across the Kenai Peninsula to Homer.

We had a fun stop at a playground along the way and drove our way out onto the Homer spit to our RV park.

We had a great site with amazing sunrises.

We were able to easily walk down along the water to the rows of little shops and restaurants and got some pizza, which we returned to again after our hike.

We had a great weather day to take the water taxi across the bay to do the Grewingk Glacier trail. They drop you off and you have to be ready to go at the time you agree upon. So, with not knowing if Jordan would accept riding in the backpack or not, we tried to rush along. She was in and out of it throughout the hike, but we kept up a decent pace. We got to hang out and eat and let Jordan play for over an hour at the lake/glacier, and made it back with plenty of time to catch our water taxi.

Lots of hike-and-seek was played in this portion of the trip. It was always entertaining since Jordan couldn't help but giggle when she was hiding and Bruce was too big to hide in more than a few places in the RV.

One night while we were there, both Bruce and Anjuli woke suddenly to a loud thump and sway of the RV. We thought maybe something had run into us, like an animal. Later that day, we heard it was an earthquake up in the main area of Homer! No harm done.
