53. Hitting The Road: First Day Feelings

Nothing is more exciting than hitting the road for an extended trip in the RV.

You get to bring many of your comforts from home with you, including your own bed, food, shower, clothes, bikes, toys. Even loading the RV up is exciting, especially as the weather is warming up as Spring arrives. Packing up the RV has become easier with each trip, especially with the help of Anjuli's mom and aunt. After spending so many months planning the trip, when the day arrives to head out, there are always some nerves along with the excitement, hoping that everything works the way it should (especially with our early experiences) and that you didn't forget anything major (we haven't yet). That first day, even the lunch stop is exciting. We feel like newbies setting up the campsite again after the winter. But once you get to leave work and the house behind, it is a great relief to only have a few things to worry about... driving, eating, sleeping, exploring.

We have always blazed out of here with a long first day, which has been ok, but might suggest a shorter first day going forward to allow more time in the evening to settle in.
