We left Crater Lake and headed East in Oregon. As we were in Eastern Oregon, we were told about the Tsunami alert for the coast, but luckily we were no where near it. The great part about an RV is that when you come across a random splash pad, you are equipped with towels and swimsuits. Jordan's new favorite RV activity is to have her face painted. So far she has been a tiger, a cow, and rainbow.
On the next day's drive, the longest and hottest one of the trip, the center console went out suddenly about 1 hour into the 6 hour drive day with 95F heat. That included the air conditioning. This had happened at Zion and back in Vermont once. The dealer fixed it in Vermont and Anjuli magically healed it in Zion, but we weren't exactly sure what fixed it. We got Jordan a special gift at the truck stop to help distract her from the heat. She did well since we could still open the back windows at least and she was hidden from direct sun in the middle of the back seat. The front windows would not open, so Bruce had to fry up front. Anjuli abandoned Bruce and hid in the back with Jordan. Once set up in Twin Falls, Anjuli tried to work her magic again, but failed after about 2 hours of trying. Just as she was going to give up and drive to the dealer, she moved the seat forward to be able to drive, and suddenly the screen came on! So, we narrowed it down to something with the seat. Bruce looked under the seat and found that the bundle of cables had rubbed away on a metal rod under the seat and when it was pushed back where he sits, it contacted the metal and made it not work. When Anjuli moved it forward, it lost that metal connection and worked normally. Who would've thought. Anyway, we are relieved to not have to continue the trip without air conditioning heading into August heat.
We went to Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls. There's a nice viewing platform that is easy to walk up to so Jordan took a photo. The waterfall photo here is Jordan's. Here's came out better than Anjuli's... the magic baby touch.
We did some practice flights with the drone. Here are Jordan's two photos.
