Bruce got up at 5am to make the hour drive across to the East side of Zion to catch the shuttle to the East Mesa to Observation Point trail. The trail itself was not as interesting as others, but the views at the end and a few points along the way were incredible. It was a pretty flat walk to get there. The tracks he spotted along the trail were either a juvenile mountain lion or bobcat, according to a ranger.

While Bruce was out, Jordan and Anjuli spotted a deer out the window of the Brinky and strolled around the campground. When he returned, Jordan learned how to pump water into the tank and we got some great ice cream in town. The truck's center console had stopped working the day before for no apparent reason, but after trying several troubleshooting ideas we found online, it came back to life. We don't know which technique worked, but we willed it back to life. It was still drivable, but this 90+ degree Utah heat would have been unbearable for a munchkin.

Later on we headed out on the bikes again without a definite destination in mind. We went to the Court of the Patriarchs stop and wandered onto the Sand Bench Trail. There were some great views right at the beginning. Jordan pushed us further and found another great view. She gave a classic tip of the sunglasses down on the way home, which made us both crack up.
