Adding to the methods we use to relive the memories, we repurposed the photo wall from our house basement to put all of the best 4x6" family photos on the side of the island adhered to a white board type sheet. After liking that, we printed out a bunch of posters from Walgreens, which came out very nice - very sturdy posters with a "satin" finish, slightly shinier than a matte and not like a cheap poster material at all. We cut them to size and put them on other panels of doors and stuff. Pro tip - print out multiple photos on each 24x36" poster to save money and be able to do longer photos. Highly recommended. We might dial these back after a while, but we will see how it goes.
Bruce also built Jordan a custom platform step just below the height of the furnace opening under her bed so now she can climb up more easily and we can pile pillows on there while maintaining air flow underneath to prevent mold. We rarely have to use the furnace since we mostly have electric hookups and use the fireplace, so we can keep that area well-padded for Jordan tumbles.
