123. Hobbies On The Road

Hiking/Backpacking: The most obvious hobby we do along our journeys. So far, we have only done day hikes, but in the next 1-2 years we will start adding in mini backpacking trips along the way.

Photography: Anjuli loves photography and gets up early for sunrises, stays out late for sunsets, and even overnight for the northern lights and some beginner astrophotography. She hopes to continue to learn more about photography through online courses and real experience. Jordan has joined in mostly over the past year and we hope she continues to love it going forward.

Biking: Biking on our trips is a lot of fun. At home, we don't have as much opportunity to bike since we live off of a busier road and don't want to take that risk. Adding in an E-bike this year will allow us to go greater distances (Anjuli with Jordan on board while Bruce huffs it on a normal bike).

Fishing: Bruce loves all kinds of fishing. On our trip to Alaska, he got to go out on a salmon charter boat and a halibut charter boat. In 2025, he will get solo fly-fishing weeks in Colorado and Montana at the beginning and end of the trip, respectively, so that Anjuli and Jordan can fly to save time. As Jordan gets older, we can start all going together if Jordan likes it.

Kayaking/Canoeing/Swimming: That baby loves water. Jordan loves canoeing and kayaking, and swimming even more. We will bring the inflatable kayak along on future trips.

FUTURE HOBBIES TO TRY TO INCLUDE:

Climbing: We love climbing. As we return to the same destinations, we can search out climbing opportunities.

Art: We will bring along some nice drawing paper and markers. Maybe not quite yet, but eventually we will start bringing painting supplies as we slow down more and the paint can actually dry. (a few of Anjuli's recent copycat oil paintings on photo.)

Puzzles: Jordan has had her smaller puzzles in the past, but we will bring along more advanced puzzles since we will be staying longer at each campground going forward, in general.

Sports: We will bring along a soccer ball, volleyball, tennis rackets, and such.
