We spent Winter break week in February in the American Fork region in Utah, South of Salt Lake City. We had amazing warm and sunny weather for almost every day there, until the last one, which still wasn't even bad.
Jordan enjoyed riding on the duffel bag through the airport. We were unknowingly on the same flight as Anjuli's boss who we ran into waiting in the airport at The Skinny Pancake. Jordan passed the time playing bar games, which she excelled at. She did well on the flights out to Salt Lake City and woke up for the late night run through the airport and drive to the airbnb townhouse.
We had amazing sunrise and sunset views in both directions right from the townhouse windows. Walking around the neighborhood reminded me of being by the mountains over in Chamonix a little bit, but without all the little restaurants.
Jordan did a full playground tour of the area to review the available equipment. There were nice mountain views from all of them.
We visited Anjuli's old med school friend and family up in Salt Lake City. The girls had fun. We got to see a nice sunset on the way home.
We explored Highland Glenn Park which had a nice playground and pond with great views as well. It felt so peaceful at the pond, almost like being transported out of town completely. There were plenty of running trails and a nearby extensive bike trail system.
Assorted Jordan and food pictures. Even the parking lots have great mountain views. Summit Pizza Co is our new favorite pizza place. We also found some delicious donuts in that red box Jordan is carrying as we went to the climbing gym below.
Jordan checked out a rock climbing gym in the area and proceeded to scale all the walls we allowed as well as some we tried not to allow her on.
We took a quick drive up American Fork Canyon and got to see some nice views.
The flights home went smoothly. Jordan liked her tiny souvenir cup and strutted her baby stuff onto the plane by herself. Being tiny has its advantages, such as lying down on the seats sideways easily.
